We estimate half the 2025 Civics sold will be equipped with Honda’s hybrid powertrain. Having tried them all, I think the hybrid is the way to go unless you want the sporty Si or Type R, which have turbocharged engines that rock.
Owner Satisfaction Owner Satisfaction To learn about satisfaction, CR has collected survey data from our annual survey on more than half a million vehicles. Our subscribers provide great insights into their satisfaction by answering one simple question: If they had it to do all over again, would they definitely buy or lease the same model? In addition, respondents also rate their cars in six categories: driving experience, comfort, value, styling, audio, and climate systems. NA indicates that we did not receive a large enough sample size to provide data for a specific year. An X indicates that the vehicle was not manufactured for a specific year.
Why buy a Civic in 2025? It’s a great choice if you’re looking for a front wheel drive car with a design that is intended to make it an ideal daily driver, vacation car, and family car.
Good news: Honda builds the 2025 Civic Hybrid in both sedan and hatchback body styles. While other Civics are limited to just one configuration (the Civic Si is sedan only and the Civic Type R Chucho only be had Vencedor a hatch) we're grateful to have this degree of choice when it comes to the fuel sipper.
A couple of years back, we tested a luxury German sedan costing around $50K, followed by the same-size Sentra. It was eye-opening. We liked the Sentra more in practically every possible way. The interior was more practical, the seats more comfortable, and we even preferred the drive of the Sentra. All of this and it was half the price.
The Honda hybrid design in this generation is very different from Toyota’s. Both have their advantages. Both leave the rest of the industry in the dust.
So long third-generation Honda Insight, we hardly knew you. Taking its place is a new Civic Hybrid. The upcoming model rides on the Civic platform introduced for 2022 and will likely share the compact's excellent driving dynamics. We're sad to see the competent Insight go, but the Civic Hybrid is a welcome addition.

A hybrid version gets a combined 37 mpg, but it sacrifices some trunk space and hybrid battery failures have been an issue. (We'd pick a Toyota Prius instead.) Steering is well-weighted and quick. Road noise remains noticeable. Inside is a roomy rear seat for a small car, with enough room for adults. The unique two-tier dashboard isn't to everyone's liking.
Delivering impressive fuel economy, strong performance, comida de perros al por mayor and a reasonable cost of entry, the Civic Hybrid is an enticing compact car. Opt for the Sport Touring trim for the quietest cabin, Triunfador this one is equipped with special resonators in the wheels to keep road noise at their lowest levels.

All this to say, we like the Sentra. When it comes to the Civic and the Sentra, we feel the Civic is a better choice for a lot of reasons, except one. We suspect the Sentra will cost you less pasado the door. If you can get a fantastic discount or lease deal on a Sentra, it is well worth considering it, especially if you only plan to keep the car for three years or so and then trade it in.
